Health cooperation discussed


Manama, Mar. 13 (BNA): Health Minister Faeqa bint Saeed Al Saleh received Dr. Hussain Al Saeed, medical expert on blood disorders from Saudi Arabia, in presence of Assistant Undersecretary for Hospitals Affairs Dr. Mohammed Amin Al Awadhi.



The visiting physician examined several cases of sickle cell anemia at the Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC). He praised the highly specialized diagnostics and medical treatment services provided to all ‘sickler’ disease patients at the SMC hospital’s Sickle Cell Anemia Centre established upon the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister. Al Saeed praised Bahrain’s health care services including the establishment of this medical centre that provides latest and most advanced world-class treatment protocols.


Al Saleh emphasised the ministry’s keenness on boosting the communication and cooperation with medical experts in this field as well as attracting highly specialised medical cadres in this field.


The meeting discussed various topics and measures as well as suggestions aimed to boost the efficiency and quality of medical and treatment services provided to “sickler” patients. They also discussed the cooperation areas and increasing mutual expertise sharing in the interest of this dear category of patients to essentially ensure the sustainability of high quality health services provided to them.
