Manama, Apr. 15 (BNA): The Shura Council expressed concern about the misuse of the freedom of opinion and expression guaranteed by the constitution and laws, which may affect the civil peace, security and societal stability.
The Shura Council today issued a statement on the calls of incitement that are categorically rejected by the people of Bahrain who stand by the leadership of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to counter the challenges may pose serious threat to the unity of the community and its national values and principles.
The statement welcomed keenness of the government on promoting partnership with the legislative branch to consolidate values of tolerance and peaceful coexistence among community members.
It praised the high-level of conscience enjoyed by the people of Bahrain, stressing resolve to boost partnership with the government and support legal measures to protect the community against calls of incitement, fueling hatred and the exploitation of social media for the dissemination of rumours.
It expressed determination to enact more legislation and laws on promoting the authority of bodies concerned with monitoring the use of social media, wishing the homeland further security and stability under the royal leadership.
