DUBAI, 14th March, 2019 (WAM) — H.H. Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, the wife of the Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, highlighted the UAE’s leading regional and international experience in supporting and protecting the rights of children and the youth.
She added that the country has ensured a decent life for children and raised future generations who will benefit their community and country, in light of its belief that children are the best investment for a brighter future.
In a speech marking ‘Emirati Children’s Day’, Sheikha Hind expressed her pride in the UAE’s achievements, due to the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Their Highnesses, Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates.
She also praised the efforts of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, to support motherhood and childhood around the country, including by drafting the ‘National Strategy for Motherhood and Childhood’ and the ‘Strategic Plan for Children with Disabilities 2017-2021’, as well as by implementing programmes that aim to support social, educational and health services for children.
The UAE Centennial 2071 highlights the country’s keenness to prepare future generations who are capable of assuming their development responsibilities, to ensure a happy future and make the UAE the best country in the world, Sheikha Hind concluded.
